Frederick R. Herr
Strategic Direction of the Payments Industry
Fred Herr is a senior vice president in the retail payments office of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta with responsibility for leading the check product management section, which entails oversight responsibilities for product development, pricing approval, industry relations and key work related to electronic check or image. He also oversees the Check Relay transportation system. He is a member of the Management Committee for the Sixth District. Mr. Herr is a member of the American Institute of Banking, the Bank Administration Institute, the Alabama Bankers Association and the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. Born in Pensacola, Florida, Fred holds a BS degree in business administration from Auburn University. He also has a banking certificate from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University and attended the Program for Management Development at Harvard University.
Samuel E. Teague
Compliance and Regulatory Issues
Sam Teague established his consulting practice in June 1997 to provide regulatory compliance assistance to the financial services industry. His practice focuses on the impact of compliance issues on electronic data processing systems. Prior to forming his own company, Sam was the Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Newtrend Division of Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS) located in Orlando, Florida. Before joining EDS/Newtrend, he held a management position with FIS, Inc. (now a division of Fiserv), a regional service bureau with 100 financial institution clients. Sam began his career with Price Waterhouse working on audit, tax and consulting engagements. He holds a BA degree from Furman University in Greenville, S.C. and an MBA degree from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. He's a licensed CPA in Florida and South Carolina and a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
