Detailed Session Descriptions

Cast Off Opening Session and Strategy Overview

Welcome aboard as FISUG begins the cruise to increased productivity. This opening session introduces FISUG officers and members and lays out the course this track takes as it rounds the buoys. Following the opening session, we review the course for keeping FCS the leading general ledger for the financial marketplace. This presentation includes a discussion on FCS 5.0 EP3 and the integration of FCS with IQ/iAccess and Business Intelligence.

Trim Your Sails by Changing SS Files

Haul in your sheets and trim your jib to speed down the course to customized FCS 3270 panels that meet your specific business needs. This technical session demonstrates the flexibility of FCS to meet your customized panel requirements and how to easily modify help panels so your users will know exactly what values are valid without requiring written documentation.

Untangle Your Lines by Managing Hierarchies Across Multiple Applications

Keeping lines untangled and hierarchy tables consistent in multiple applications are effective methods of sailing a more efficient course. Learn how to keep multiple hierarchy structures in sync in this FISUG member-led roundtable discussion that details how different banks manage hierarchies across multiple applications such as MDM, EDM and MPC.

Swab the Decks and Polish the Brass with the Reconciliations and Certifications Roundtable

Just finishing the race is not enough; sometimes you have to look good doing it. This FISUG member-led roundtable features discussions on the methods, controls and tools used to identify accountability and confirm timely reconcilements for general ledger accounts. Clients learn best practices and new techniques to take back to their own organizations.

Learn to Weather the Storm in this Technical Roundtable

Learn to sail smoothly through rough technical issues in this roundtable discussion hosted by TriSyn Group staff. This session provides an open technical forum on issues such as distributed tools and Java version conflicts that have been identified through TriSyn Group Support in addition to any other issues that may arise during the session. This is an opportunity to learn how to more efficiently manage your technical environment through any conditions.

Inspect New Ships: Infor Financial Applications

Join the crew as we explore additional financial applications available from Infor, TriSyn Group’s parent company. Applications such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and MPC expand your ability to deliver solid financial information quickly and easily to effectively navigate the turbulent waters within your markets and reach the financial reporting finish line on a steady keel.

Inspect Below the Waterline: FCS and DB2 Technical Session

Go underwater and see what really makes this boat move. This technical session provides specific topics such as runtime definitions for DB2, converting from VSAM to DB2 and running FCS in a DB2 environment, not to mention an online demonstration of access to FCS data through SQL queries.

A Real-Time Posting Success Story

One FISUG crew member now pilots a faster ship. In this session hear a client share how real-time posting in FCS helps chart a winning strategy. This includes lessons learned from moving to the new release as well as process and closing time improvements they have achieved. Learn how you too can speed up the month-end closing process.

Race Recap: A Year in Review

Prepare for the next race by discussing last year’s winning and losing strategies. This FISUG member-led roundtable targets common issues such as Sarbanes-Oxley reporting, month-end closing and consolidation processes as well as solutions to those issues over the past year.

On the Water Safety Check: MICM Security Roundtable

Maintaining safety at sea and securing access to FCS data are critical to successfully reaching your goals. So check your life vests and life lines with this FISUG member-led roundtable discussion of best practices on setting up and maintaining security records using MICM. Learn the newest techniques to ensure your organization finishes the race safely.

Cross the Finish Line: Enhancement Review

As the finish line nears, join other FISUG members in reviewing the current FCS Enhancement List and discussing new enhancements to add to the application. After Vision 2008, the revised list will be distributed to FISUG members for ranking, and the results will be incorporated into the enhancement planning process. Following this enhancement review, FISUG members address any old and new business prior to the FISUG president’s closing remarks.

Cruising Foreign Waters with Multi-Currency Roundtable

Having the proper currency in hand as you sail into foreign ports makes it easier to deal with the locals. This FISUG member-led roundtable session highlights multi-currency processing requirements for domestic banks. FISUG members discuss specific and general requirements for multi-currency processing that TriSyn Group will utilize in planning any multi-currency offering.

How to Use the Distributed Tools (Post-conference Education)
