The item processing crew faces turbulent waters: declining check volumes, pressure to run a tight ship, expectations to tow the line on processing costs, and the uncharted waters of capture sources and distribution alternatives. You’ll be headed in the right direction by joining fellow TUG crewmates as we set sail for Vision 2008. While TriSyn Group product experts discuss SuperMICR features that help maintain the course with image exchange, peers show the ropes on issues like duplicate ECPi items and running a tight ship. Detailed Session Descriptions

Payments Industry Update: FRB Perspective

As payments migrate from paper to electronic check image exchange, growing pains emerge that impact liability, availability, fee income and clearing costs. Check image capture retreats back to the source while the traditional item processing area often loses control over the capture process. Additionally, competing clearing agents and technologies such as ARC, BOC, other ACH clearing arrangements and check image exchange further complicate the industry. Senior Vice President of Retail Payments for the Federal Reserve Bank, Fred Herr, discusses these key issues and trends to help you understand the challenges ahead.

FRB Roundtable

It’s always a good opportunity to discuss challenges of the race with someone who really knows the ropes. Fred Herr, our guest speaker from the previous session, joins TUG members for a roundtable discussion of Check 21, check image exchange, image ACH, DTC pilot, and other item processing related topics. This is your opportunity to network with peers, gather information and get feedback on today's issues from an expert in the payments arena.

New Sails for SuperMICR

SuperMICR 5.0 is a significant enhancement release with lots of new bells and whistles and a more intuitive user interface to improve productivity. Learn how the latest features make training the new balancing crew a breeze!

ZeroPass Repair

Processing MICR rejects is like sailing with the anchor dragging the bottom. However, ZeroPass Repair eliminates most manual handling of paper rejects. This session explores the newest TriSyn Group solution and how it improves your operations. Anchors aweigh!

Learn the Ropes on SuperMICR 5.0

Before sailing the new waters of a new release such as SuperMICR 5.0, it always helps to get the advice of those who made the journey before you. This session provides an opportunity to learn from the "old salts" who have already implemented this release. Our panelists have gone through the SuperMICR 5.0 installation process, including migration and user acceptance testing, so this is your chance to learn the ropes.

New Race Rules: ANSI X9.100-180

As image technology becomes more prevalent, the industry has recognized the limitations of the X9.37 check image exchange format. The next generation of the ANSI standard is the X9.100-180 and 181 file formats which support credits and internal settlement entries. In this session, learn how SuperMICR will implement this new standard.

SuperMICR 5.0 Demo

This session explores SuperMICR 5.0 features and demonstrates the new display navigation that functions like a GPS for your balancers. The new Display PCF Control Panel simplifies item modification and the Batch Balancing Displays zero in on out-of-balance batches. So climb aboard for the tour around the bay!

What Happens If I Pull That Rope?

Over time we all develop standard procedures to handle day-to-day operations. SuperMICR continues to expand with new offerings that may not always get communicated down to the entire team, so this session explores those developed over the years that, based on our observations, are not well known. Let us help you learn the ropes of these features and make your job a little easier.

Product Direction of SuperMICR

In competitive sailing, the completion of one race marks the beginning of preparation for the next. The same is true for software development. SuperMICR 5.0 is the compilation of a great deal of development effort, but we are already looking ahead to the next release. SuperMICR 5.0 EP1 will require a shorter development cycle with a more compact set of enhancements, so join us as we chart our course to the future.

Duplicate Detection and Mismatch Images

With a catamaran, two hulls are better than one, but the same is not true with check images. One of the biggest challenges in using digital check images to clear checks has been getting the same items distributed twice. This session reviews the safeguards in SuperMICR to avoid duplicate items and mismatched images.

SuperMICR Enhancement List Review

Equipped with insight into the planned features of SuperMICR 5.0 EP1, this session provides a forum to prioritize the business needs of remaining SuperMICR enhancement requests. It is also a great opportunity to review your operational challenges and suggest new features to run a tight ship. This is your chance to participate in the SuperMICR product direction and have your voice heard.

Unique Problems and Workarounds

Every experienced sailor has their own personal tactics to help them win the race. In this roundtable discussion, seasoned SuperMICR sailors share their experiences in dealing with knotty problems.
